SSSI is the national peak body representing spatial professionals in Australia and New Zealand. Our organisational structure is complex, as we consist of some 18 different sub-groups within the organisation, reflecting state-offices and active professional groups. We required a system that could facilitate on-line membership payments, membership portal, and events registrations, including a payments gateway, as well as a web site and back-end Content Management System that could support an organisation with 18 sub-divisions.
A number of options were explored, including purchasing off-the-shelf products and similar web service providers. We approached Sam and Synapse after short-listing potential web designers to build a new well-overdue web site. After our first meeting with Sam he made it clear that Synapse could not only deliver a new public-facing web site, but also a solution to our planned two-year Information Communications Technology platform integration strategy. The investment
required for the project, compared to inter-state and local web service providers, was substantially less, whilst promising very similar deliverables.
Development is now well-underway for an integrated cloud-based solution. The deliverables have exceeded our expectations and we are seeing real results in flexibility, design and functionality for all stakeholders. Staff and volunteers within the organisation have given overwhelmingly positive feedback.
I have found Sam’s and his staff’s accuracy of interpretation of our requirements into on-line applications to be excellent as well as Sam’s technical knowledge and how it can be applied to our situation. The ability of Sam and Synapse to interpret the needs of our various stakeholder groups has been excellent, as well as their ability to comprehend the complex nature of our organisation quickly. The quality and creativity in web design has been excellent. One of our priorities was to ensure that we had continual and clear communication throughout the project. I have found the availability and responsiveness of the Synapse team to exceed expectations.
